About Me

Hayley Cleary is an illustrator based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Growing up, she loved to draw and read, and would often create handmade picture books for her younger brother with notebook paper and markers. She continued to cultivate her passion for visual storytelling in college at the University of Kansas where she graduated with a BFA in Illustration and Animation.

Throughout her career, Hayley has had the pleasure of working with several clients, including Crooked Media, Creative Consumer Concepts and Beaver’s Pond Press, and is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She enjoys using traditional media such as pencil and paint to craft her work, before adding color and final touches digitally. Above all else, she strives to bring narratives and ideas to life in a way that people of all ages can find meaning in. 

When she’s not working on one of her projects, she enjoys running obscenely long distances and adding books to her already overflowing bookshelves.
